We've been to Brands where surprise, surprise, we had more problems. Qualified 24th overall, 6th in class. Managed 16th overall, 5th in class by end of race one. Retired in race 2.

Bertie felt lacklustre and slow. Tried hard but could not get him to run crisp, just felt flat.

Head off - valves are letting by. Worse was to come when sump off - found bits of liner skirt.

At least we've identified some problems so hopefully a rebuild will have Bertie feeling fit and raring to go for Thruxton.

We have withdrawn our entry for Thruxton.

Apologies to anyone who was hoping to meet Bertie at this event.

Can not believe the extent of the work required to get the engine back together. Simple little things, but we've had to wait our turn at the machine shops, so a head skim is 24 hours, drop it off one morning, pick it up the next. Crankshaft work 3 days before ready. Liner boring/honing was very quick but then the deck heights have to be sorted before back to the machine shop for cutting in of Wills rings. Still all should be well for Donington in a few weeks time.

Enjoyed Donny last week. For about 3 racing minutes.

Think Craner Curves have killed another engine.

Hopefully we can put 2016 behind us and get back on track this season. No set plans as yet, but will probably do a Brands meeting or two. Budget is close to zero as money spent on the other car over the winter.
