Re: Camshaft locking pins
Spoox Motorsport have them. https://spoox.co.uk/citroen/693-citroen-bx-16v-timing-pin-kit.html There are sizes and dimensions to make a set in Haynes, they are a little on the short side and can rest inside the cog alignment hole so take that into account if you have some machined. I expect the Spoo...

Re: Wont Idle when HOT
Keeping a watch on progress, I doubt it will solve the issue but as well as the other items you are checking, are all your earth connection points clean, the one under the battery, to the n/s wing and to the engine. Also the throttle position sensor, a bit of a clean up may help. If the issue appear...

Hi! Finally logged in after being away for a while. Welcome back to the forum, you have been away for a while, 5 years! Nice to see your two cars side by side, the limo style of the CX next to the more angular BX. Sounds like you have a bit to do regarding the BX but at least you seem to know what ...

The 16v and the Whiplash Effect.
Hi All, Just thought I would start a little thread here about how the model attracts attention and comments from members of the public. Like many I don't really get time to take the valver out often due to other commitments but it has had a couple outings recently. What I have seen is quite remarkab...

Re: Citroen Centenary - 31st May to 2nd June
Hi Vanny,
That is awful, I bet you are fed up. I guess you have some breakdown cover with your insurance but it is very disappointing. The car looks really nice on the road as well. Probably something very minor but enough to probably ruin the day.

Re: Crank sensor location
I look in here just as much. IMO, this is the place to be as far as 16v's go. With BX's finally gathering more classic status it would be a shame to lose it after so many years and even though it is 16v specific a lot of information applies to the range.
I appreciate there are some costs though.

Re: mk 1 16v fuel pump question
Hi Mac, It does not always follow that a clicking relay is good, it may still not be working. You can check by putting power to it then see it is activating fully across the other terminals with a multimeter by checking continuity. I think the injector relay also has a bit extra inside so perhaps no...

Re: mk 1 16v fuel pump question
You may have sorted this by now but if not you may want to check the relays located in the o/s wing. There are two, one deals with the pump and the other powers the injectors once it is provided with a signal. There could be a fault with the relay or the signal getting to it originating from the cra...

Taxed again after several months on SORN, not sure how often it will get out but I made time today and had drive in the nice weather.

Re: Chances of success
Good news Vanny. At least you are using it  Must feel nice knowing you can go to the car, start it and actually take it out. I planned on getting mine taxed at the start of this month but the bad weather put paid to that. Even if it had been, I would not have had the time to take it out. Perha...

Re: Chances of success
Hi Vanny, just seen this. By now you may be back and I really hope you have not seen views from the hard shoulder. Your comments made me smile, I think everyone is relieved when they get back home but I think you will have made it without issue. I bet you will have got a few looks, these cars seem t...

Re: Who's on the road (or could be), who is Not?
In respect of who could be, I could but with the loooooong winter, I am not and it looks like it will stay that way until all the salt has been thoroughly washed away. It was a dry day today but my car arrived home covered in a white layer of dust. Imagine what that will do to a 28 year old. Plus so...
